There is a template Substack wants me to use that says beginnings are hard…
And to tell you about my first post.
1. Why this, why now
Because I love to write, namely funny things, short stories even. It will likely be about running, but not always.
2. What kind of community are you looking to build here
A jovial lot. Or maybe anyone looks for a bit of respite from swiping. I’m on this planet for entertainment. I am convinced of that.
3. Be specific
It’s telling me to be specific. I cannot tell you how frequently I will post, just that I will post. Free versus paid? I am not charging anyone anything. It shall all be free.
4. Use an image and “subscribe” buttons
I’m going to leave what the font says
”A picture will look nicer when you share the post on your social media (click the image icon in the editor to search for copyright-free photos), and it will give color to your archive as you build it.”
Those are so really sweet color pencils. I definitely would subscribe.
5. Ignore our advice
“There is no one true way to go about building a Substack. This is your playground, experiment with it. If you’re having fun, your readers will too.”
Okay, well a little too late. This post is mostly template at this point.
Please subscribe and I promise to write funny things.
Can't wait to see what you're going to bless us with. After going through your IMDB profile, I'm anticipating greatness.
